Profile

Georgina Ramirez joined the Multimedia Retrieval group at Yahoo! Research Barcelona in June 2007.

Her work focuses on the user behavior and interaction aspects of multimedia retrieval. In particular, she is interested in developing interaction based content annotation and implicit/explicit feedback models.

Georgina is also an active member of an European project on "Search Environments for Media", SEMEDIA.

Before joining Yahoo!, Georgina was a member of the Database Architectures and Information Access group at the Center for Mathematics and Computer Science (CWI) in Amsterdam, where she completed her PhD on the use of structural features for effective content-oriented XML Retrieval.
