Hugues Bouchard is a Senior Research Engineer at Yahoo! Labs Research in Barcelona. His primary interests are Information Retrieval, Web Mining, User Modeling and Social Media. He is currently a member of the Geo Mining research group.

Hugues worked on several projects involving Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing techniques applied to Information Retrieval.

His academic background in Mathematics and Philosophy brought him to the area of Information Retrieval and Natural Language Processing. Hugues completed a M.Sc. in Computer Sciences in 2006. His thesis holds on Context-Based Information Retrieval.
