Janet George is Director of Research Engineering for Yahoo! Research and currently leads the Engineering, Infrastructure and Website teams in Yahoo Research.
She is responsible for building and growing the Research Engineering Organization, building professional, scaleable Research Infrastructure and a world class professional Yahoo Research Website.
Janet is also engaged in building Research Engineering organization in Bangalore India with strong contributions.
Prior to Yahoo, Janet served as Sr. Director for a portfolio of innovative whitespace emerging technologies at Intuit. Prior to Intuit, Janet served as Vice President at Andale responsible for leadership and management of Andale Research Products, and User Experience Champion teams. Prior to Andale, Janet worked at eBay responsible for highly visible very strategic scope initiatives for eBay platform in 40 countries, eBay Storefront, eBay Pictures Services, eBay Message center, and seamless technology integration of PayPal and CarAd acquisitions.
Janet also held Sr. Director Positions in Etak/Sony merged with TeleAtlas where she worked on digital mapping products, which is currently licensed and used by Google in Google Maps. She brings with her a wealth of 17 plus years of experience garnered at a number of top tier companies like Apple computer, Informix Software and Hewlett Packard Labs. Janet holds an Advanced Master Degree and Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics and Electronics, with 18 years of education and industry experience.
