Profile

My research focuses on retrieval of short texts, such as the meta-data associated with images and video, as well as sponsored search and contextual advertising. Currently I am working on an online learning approach to sponsored search which utilizes click data, as well as developing retrieval models for image and video that encourage diversity as well as relevance. I am also involved in a joint project with Y! Geo to evaluate and improve the identification of places in queries and free text.
