Yahoo Wins Best Paper at CIKM 2009

CIKM 2009 took place in vibrant Hong Kong from November 2 to November 6. CIKM is a leading ACM conference that brings together researchers from the fields of information retrieval, databases, and knowledge management. Yahoo Labs outperformed its previous year’s presence, taking the awards for best paper, best student paper, and runner-up student paper out of a record 30 accepted papers. This year, the technical program featured many interesting papers in areas such as information extraction, ranking, Web search, social search, personalized search, social networks, graph mining, Web mining, probabilistic databases, stream processing, clustering, classification, cloud computing, and more.
