Yehuda Koren Wins Best Paper at RecSys 2011

Yahoo Labs Scientist Yehuda Koren has won the Best Paper Award at the 5th ACM International Conference on Recommender Systems (RecSys 2011). He co-authored the paper "OrdRec: An ordinal model for predicting personalized item rating distributions" with Joe Sill. The paper showcases user feedback in recommender systems as ordinal vs Boolean and also reveals novel ways for estimating confidence in predictions.

Koren and Sill beat out 21 other accepted papers for the win.
