Alyssa Glass is a Research Director for Metrics, User Engagement, Personalization and Recommendation at Yahoo Research, where she leads a team of scientists focused on measuring and optimizing user engagement with search and personalization systems. Her work focuses on using sound experimentation practices and data analysis to understand how users engage with complex systems. She is broadly interested in artificial intelligence, explanation systems, and how users interact with intelligent systems. Previous work at SRI International, Willow Garage, and Xerox PARC touched on research related to intelligent task execution, knowledge representation and reasoning, multi-agent systems, and robotics. Alyssa has a PhD from Stanford University and a BA from Harvard University, both in computer science.
