Nicola Barbieri is a research scientist in the "Ad Processing and Retrieval" group at Yahoo Labs - London. He graduated with full marks and honor and received his PhD in 2012 at University of Calabria - Italy, with a dissertation about probabilistic approaches for recommendations.
Before joining Yahoo! in 2012, he was a fellow researcher at ICAR-CNR, where his activities focused on probabilistic topic models and their application to collaborative filtering scenarios. He is co-author of the book "Probabilistic Approaches to Recommendations" published by Chapman & Hall/CRC Press.
His research focuses on the development of novel data mining and machine learning techniques with a wide range of applications in information diffusion and social influence analysis, viral marketing and community detection.
