Eric's work in the Visual Intelligence team has focused on developing machine learning models to power new shopping experiences and improve ad targeting, including visual search based on visual similarity and/or natural language queries. Before coming to Verizon Media, Eric completed his PhD in Physics at UC Berkeley in 2018 where he studied early visual and auditory processing in the brain and natural stimulus statistics at the Redwood Center for Theoretical Neuroscience. He got his BA in Physics and Mathematics from Pomona College in 2012.
