Jimmy Yang leads the Advertising Insights and Optimization team, which conducts applied research, data analysis, model building, algorithm design, offline simulation and online experimentation for online advertising in areas such as supply and demand forecasting, and optimization, pricing and revenue management, ad effectiveness measurement, ad quality modeling, and marketplace insights and optimization across multiple platforms. Prior to joining Yahoo Labs in 2008, he held various R&D and management positions at Rapt, i2, Manugistics and other companies. He received Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of California, Davis.
Jimmy has published over 50 papers in various computer science, engineering and business venues, such as IEEE Transactions, Operations Research, Journal of Marketing, WWW, WSDM, NIPS, AAAI, KDD and CIKM. He has 8 granted US patents.
